You can tell I'm kinda a rookie at this blogging stuff, cuz I couldn't exactly get these videos on the last post. But the pictures are on a site for people to see... that was my point in doing this! Ha :)

We are amazed at how well Gabriel is doing since getting his harness off 2 days ago. I left him on his tummy, went to the bathroom, and when I came back he was sitting! Wow!!! So, I tried taking a video, and of course he didn't do it. But here they are anyway :)

HAPPY to be at the wash!

Mavric in the morning: he is hilarious. He won't move anything but his tail:

Gabriel got his harness off on Nate's birthday!! They celebrated together, far apart.

The 'softball' around the break is the new bone.

I love this picture. He is so awesome.

Another shopping experience with the boys. Caleb and Gabriel trying out the new doggie pillow.

Gabriel thought Caleb was SO hilarious. They are getting to be the BEST of buddies. We are so lucky to be able to watch Caleb. We love him!!!

I love these little boy's expressions.  :)
I can't figure out how to rotate this picture, so turn your heads sideways. The doggies each have a pillow now.

AWWWW!!!!

Caleb was the only person who would make Gabriel happy this day. Down day for Gabriel. But, thanks to Caleb, Gabriel quit crying. We took Caleb to Gma's and they share a chair at the table for a highchair there. :)

Gabriel hanging out on his pot watching  Mommy and Daddy do P90X.

VERY tired boys. Yes, both of them needed a nap something fierce. I love how Gabriel is holding onto Caleb's hand for comfort. :)

We had Gma duty last night. :) The roads were so horrible, I got the car this far and I couldn't get it into the driveway. This is where is stayed for 15 minutes until Terry got it.
Gabriel, Horton, Andy, and Gerald. Smothering Gabriel with stuffed animals was our attempt to make his like his pack and play and sleep there all night long. Just feel free to ask us how that went for us.
Gabriel's holding his own bottle now.  (when he doesn't expect service-which is most of the time-ha)
Mollie sitting on Gabriel's lap :)

Yup, Gabriel has his big toe in his mouth. :)

Gabriel is happy sitting in the chair and playing with toys again.  And Mollie likes to join him. (with hopes that somebody might throw that ball under her nose!)

Looking at the handsome boy in the mirror going potty!

Mollie has been WAITING for the day we would sit Gabriel in his car seat with some food. She will patiently wait for him to drop some!

January 17th, 2013:
A big day for the Ault's!! --Gabriel took his first bath of 2013! We got permission from the orthopedist to take his harness off for baths, and then right back on. But hey-that was exciting for us!!
Mollie's snowsuit :) It's cold out there for a dog without much hair :)

Gabriel's new thing. :)

Uncle Rob was the ticket... what made Gabriel happy!!
(And I'm pretty sure Rob liked it too :)

The x-ray from Jan 15th. There is a white ring around the break... that is the new bone growing around the break to fix it :)

I love this picture... Caleb thinks he's pretty cute giving Gabriel a kiss!!

O so fun!
Gabriel can sit again!!!!! (sort of)

New Years 2012-13

It'll be a while before we forget (as if that will happen) this New Years. Thanks to Nate and Darla for coming... and for their support in all the events!
I got sick again before they came after starting my antibiotics in Texas.
We started out our visit with some awesome prime rib at Fat Boys Saturday night-  came home and gave the 3 kids baths. Everybody had a blast.
Sunday morning Nate woke up sick. We went to Special Meeting- and on the way in, Terry slipped on the ice while he had Gabriel. :-/ Gabriel had a horrible rest of the day (which is an understatment). We had Gary Gasser check him out because he was so fussy, and he was able to check a pressure point in his head to reassure us it was not a head injury. That night he was cold and clammy. We knew that we all had had the flu, and figured he could probably still be dizzy from the fall. Monday he woke up some better, but still would cling to your neck when you held him and cry. So we would hold him close and he would be happy and comfortable if we just loved him up. We got nervous, so we called the clinic. They said likely the fall had nothing to do with it- just a ton of bugs were going around and he hadn't pooped for quite a few days so to try and bring his knees to his chest to help constipation. Well the day went on. Rhya got sick and puked all over. We got Gabriel up and on the potty which was quite an accomplishment, so we forgot about Brielle- so she went off and pooped on the floor. (I read Darla's blog and I had totally forgotten about Sakari's accident!!!) well-let us tell you, we really are not attached to our house or stuff to care one measly stitch about that!!! Well... we tried and tried to comfort Gabriel all day. We noticed how he would be content, but could not handle diaper changes, or the changing of hands with who held him. But - we couldn't figure it out. About 730, Terry was trying to do the knees to chest thing, and that is when he heard a clunk in Gabriel's leg. He had Nate come check and see if he could hear it. Yup, he did too. I paniked. He called Bonnie and she called our pediatrician and told him that we wondered if we had knocked his hip out. He said to take him to ER right away because it could be a fracture. So- we all packed up (yes- thank you Nate and Darla for coming with us!) and headed to ER to spend our New Years Eve!
This is what they found. :( A broken femur.
The ER dr, nurse, and a paramedic put Gabriel in this temporary splint. His pain was instantly relieved when the paramedic
pulled his leg down- put the leg in traction.

NEW YEARS DAY

Well- Gabriel was much better, but still needing his tylenol every 4-6 hours. But- Terry woke up sick and couldn't even come downstairs. He was sick all day. But-  the rest of us tried to have a good day anyway. :)
Rhya got to watch Gabriel get his splint put on. So, on Tuesday, Rhya was playing- helping all of our legs feel better by wrapping them up with Auntie Sarah's moby. Dr. Lester poses for the camera :)

We would take turns entertaining Gabriel because now he gets extremely bored not being able to move! Thanks Uncle Nate for taking his turn! (and thanks Brielle for your blanket because it was too hurtful to try to get clothes on Gabriel!)

And let's not forget Mollie!! Seriously, how could that be comfortable?
JANUARY 2nd 2013

The Orthopedist's nurse called at 7:55 to see if we would come in as soon as we could that morning to get Gabriel out of his temporary splint and into his new pavlik harness that he'd be wearing for probably 6 weeks. We will go in every week for x-rays to see how the healing process is going.
Pavlik harness. A little more painful than the splint because it keeps him more mobile. But, we're sure the orthopedist knows more about healing bones than we do- and this is his prefered healing method! We are giving him tylenol every 4-6 hours still to keep his pain under control.

The dr also prescribed tylenol with codine. Because constipation is a side-effect, we try to get along with just regular tylenol. But, since it was quite painful for Gabriel to get out of his splint and into his pavlik harness, the orthopedist suggested giving him a couple doses of the codine. We thought for sure it would make him crash. This is our child on tylenol with codine:

The carseat is one of the favorite places again. Holds his leg in place. Until he gets bored of course :/ Poor kid!

Gma Bonnie came to visit at work while Mommy was busy washing cars! This was way better than being stuck in the pack and play!!

Happy New Year Everyone! --- hope the year gets better and better!!

This is just a miscellaneous picture I found from who knows when of Mollie in her awkward sitting position. She must be on daddy's lap, but there wasn't quite enough room. :)
Since the Texas storm chased us home early, we made it back for the Ault Christmas... we surprised everyone!

The Ault cousins
Uncle Tim and Gabriel

Our plans were to take a trip to Texas to see Auntie Jen. Well- a huge storm was coming our way which equaled 16 inches. So we thought our trip would be cancelled. Then I started to come down with strep. So on Wednesday (plan was to leave Thursday) we went to the dr to get me some antibiotics. We were watching Caleb, so here are the boys while Mama gets examined.  :)

Terry got hung up somewhere, and he was about 2 minutes late and I needed to leave. I put Gabriel in his exersaucer, and locked the door behind me. A strange, adventurous feeling. Ha. This is how Terry found him when he got home in 2 minutes :)
Daddy says we won't be making a habbit of that :)

YAY!!! Auntie Jen and Gabriel
I did my best to make sure Mollie was comfortable on the road trip.

We FINALLY reached our destination. We were VERY glad to be out of the car. There were other dogs that made Mollie very nervous, so she crawled up by Jen and Gabriel.
The last night we were with Jen, Gabriel cooperated to sleep with her. He made it with her til 1 before he needed some milk :)
Mollie all tucked in for nigh-night.

Bed time... Gabriel's travel bassinet fits TWO!
We ended up leaving a day early also, to avoid a storm in tx and it worked out that we got to meet Charles Vaughn for lunch! It was SO good to see him. And Gabriel loved meeting Uncle Charles! What a bonus to our trip...
